DJS Scaffolding is run by Danny Shanahan, a CISRS advanced scaffolder with over 16 years' experience. He set the company up in Ilkeston in 2026, and a team of three puts up every job.

The story

One team,from quote to take-down.

Danny has been scaffolding for more than 16 years and holds a CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card. In June 2026 he set up DJS Scaffolding Ltd in Ilkeston, where the business is based today.

There are three of us, all CISRS-carded. Danny comes out to price every job himself after a free visit, and our own team puts it up, inspects it and takes it down.

We're insured for £5 million public liability, the level councils ask for before they'll license a scaffold on the pavement, and we apply for those licences for you.

How we work

    Danny comes out, measures up and sends a written price. The price he writes down is the price you pay.

  • Inspected every 7 days

    Every scaffold is handed over with a certificate and inspected at least every seven days while it's up, and again after bad weather.

  • Licences sorted

    If your scaffold needs a pavement licence, we apply for it, with whichever of the four local councils covers your street.

  • Locked off every night

    We take down or lock off the access ladders at the end of each working day, so the scaffold isn't a way into your house.
