Quotes and cost
Prices,and how fast.
Yes. Danny comes out, measures up and sends a written price. There's no charge and no obligation, and the price he writes down is the price you pay.
It depends on the height, how many sides need covering, the access and how long you need it. Danny prices every job after a free visit, and the price is fixed and in writing.
Small jobs are often the same week, and we can sometimes get out at short notice. Bigger jobs depend on the diary, so ring and we'll tell you straight.
Permits and neighbours
Licences,neighbours and permission.
No. Scaffolding doesn't need planning permission, in a conservation area or anywhere else. If it stands on a pavement or road, it needs a licence from the council's highways team instead.
It depends where you live. Derbyshire County Council covers Ilkeston, Heanor, Long Eaton, Sandiacre, Ripley, Alfreton and Belper. Derby City Council covers Derby. Nottinghamshire County Council covers Stapleford, Eastwood, Kimberley, Beeston, Hucknall, Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield. Nottingham City Council covers Nottingham. We'll tell you at the quote whether you need one, and we apply for it for you.
You'll need their say-so first. Most neighbours are fine once they know what's going up and for how long, and Danny can explain what's involved.
Not for the scaffold itself. Tell us when you ring, and check with your local council's planning team whether the work you're having done needs consent.
While it's up
Safety,inspections and access.
Yes. We carry public liability insurance and can send you the certificate. Every scaffold is handed over with a certificate and inspected at least every seven days while it's up, and again after bad weather.
We do. We hand it over with a certificate and inspect it at least every 7 days and after bad weather. If anyone needs it changed, they ring us rather than altering it themselves.
Usually just access to where the scaffold is going. Danny will tell you exactly what he needs at the site visit, so there are no surprises on the day.
A scaffold can make upstairs windows easier to reach, so keep them locked while it's up. We take down or lock off the access ladders at the end of each working day.
When you're done
Hire periods,and taking it down.
As long as you need. The quote covers an agreed hire period and extending is easy. Just let us know before it runs out.
Give us a ring and we'll come and take it down and clear up after ourselves. No leftover fittings in the garden.
