Shared chimneys
Many terraced and semi-detached houses share a stack with next door. Work on a shared chimney needs your neighbour's agreement, so ask them early.
On the pavement or road?
A scaffold on a public pavement or road needs a licence from the council's highways team, and councils ask for notice, so tell us early. We'll say at the quote whether you need one, and we apply for it for you.
Parking and access
We need to get close to unload. If there's a skip, a van or cars on the drive, mention it when you book so the space is clear on the day.
Keeping it secure
A scaffold can make upstairs windows easier to reach, so keep them locked while it's up. We take down or lock off the access ladders at the end of each working day.

For most chimney work, yes. Repointing, flashing and rebuilds mean working at the stack with both hands for hours, and a scaffold with guard rails is the safe way to do that.
Chimney and gable scaffolds are smaller than a full house scaffold, so they're usually quicker to put up. Danny will give you a time at the visit.
Talk to your neighbour before the work starts. A shared stack serves both houses, so they'll need to agree to the work.
Yes, but it takes more planning than a stack on the gable end. Danny will look at the roof and work out the access at the visit.
It depends on where the stack is, the height of the house and how long you need it. Danny prices it after a free visit, fixed and in writing.
Yes. A short run of scaffold for a small repair is fine. Ring and ask.
